Triangle Youth Music Summer Camps

Registration for Summer 2025 Camps is now OPEN!


Triangle Youth Music is excited to offer several programs this summer for musicians of all instruments.

See below for more information on each of the programs.


Tuition for Half Day Camps is $325, and Full Day Camps is $525.

 Financial Aid is offered for all programs.

Creative Music Camp

 (8th - 12th grade)

July 7th - July 11th

Price Music Center - NC State University

Full Day Camp (9 AM - 4 PM) - $525


New this year! Join our Creative Music Summer Camp and explore the limitless possibilities of music creation! Dive into the art of composing, improvising, and discovering new perspectives on your instrument. Whether you’re a budding composer, an adventurous improviser, or simply curious about creating something new on your instrument, this camp is designed for YOU. This camp is available for all instruments, and all genres of music!


Who’s It For?

Musicians eager to:

  • Experiment with new sounds and techniques
  • Explore modern approaches to music-making
  • Collaborate with like-minded peers
  • Push the boundaries of what their instrument can do
  • Young musicians who want to be creative or learn how to be creative via your playing or composing, share ideas, learn how to create ideas via music, etc etc.


 What Will You Learn?
- Improvisation techniques to bring out your unique musical voice
- Composition skills to craft your own music
- Tools to think creatively and take your playing to the next level
- How to connect with a supportive community of musicians

String Orchestra Half/Full Day Camp (all levels)

July 14th - July 18th

Peace Presbyterian Church in Cary

Half Day - $325, Full Day - $525


Directed by Meaghan Clayton and Myre Luke. From 9 AM - 12 PM, string students of any level can participate in traditional orchestra camp.


For those who want to stay for the full day, 1 PM - 4 PM is our enrichment session, where students can select two options each day, including:

  • Chamber Music (for intermediate/advanced students)
  • TYM Audition Prep
  • Music Theory
  • Music History, and/or Music Composition/Arranging.


Please note: the enrichment portion is only available to students who participate in the morning session.

Jazz Camp

(minimum 2 years of experience playing an instrument)

July 21st - July 25th

Price Music Center - NC State University

Full Day Camp (9 AM - 4 PM) - $525


Designed for musicians with at least two years of experience with their instrument, directed by TYJB director, Kobie Watkins and TYJE director, Gregg Gelb. Students will be broken up into smaller groups based on skill level. Musicians will explore jazz style, improvisation, and prep for TYM auditions (if applicable).
